PRIVACY / THE RECORD
Privacy Policy
Last updated: · Version: 2026-09-04
Storyboarder, Inc. (“Talebreak,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Talebreak website, game, applications, and related services (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Talebreak. You can read public Character pages without an account. Creating a Character, joining a World, or using account features involves additional information.
- Account, access, and contact information: your email address, account identifier, sign-in provider, invitation or waitlist status, account role, and messages you send us. The waitlist also accepts an optional name of a person or Character you know.
- Characters and creative work: Character names, handles, biographies, traits, appearance, height, movement and voice settings; uploaded artwork and game-ready assets made from it; questions, answers, notes, stories, conversations, photos, Worlds, buildings, props, dialogue, and other material you create.
- Social and gameplay information: Worlds visited or saved, game sessions, choices, progress, inventory, preferences, meetings, follows, collections, finds, interactions, and activity associated with your account, Character, or guest identity.
- Safety information: content reports, blocks, moderation decisions, account restrictions, and related records.
- Technical information: IP address, connection and request times, session and request identifiers, browser or device information, performance data, and error or security events.
2. Theater recordings
Some multiplayer Worlds have Theater recording enabled. Talebreak shows a recording indicator while recording is active. A replay may include Character names and appearances, movement, actions, public chat, eligible conversation lines, participation times, and the state of the World. Personalized or unrevealed game answers are not intended to appear in Theater recordings.
Ordinary private replays are available to their participants for 14 days. A participant may pin a short moment, which keeps the associated replay window until that participant removes it or it is otherwise removed under these policies.
3. Browser storage
Talebreak uses local storage, session storage, cookies, and similar browser technologies where needed for sign-in, guest continuity, invitations, reconnecting to a World, preferences, drafts, recent or saved Worlds, and game progress. During Character creation, browser storage may temporarily hold Character choices and an uploaded image so the process can continue through a sign-in redirect. You can clear this information through your browser, although doing so may remove guest progress or sign you out.
4. How we use information
- Provide accounts, guest play, Characters, multiplayer Worlds, creative tools, and social features.
- Authenticate people, manage invitations and access, and preserve preferences and progress.
- Store, display, transmit, and technically prepare content for the features and audiences you choose.
- Operate Theater recording in Worlds where it is enabled.
- Answer support requests and communicate about access or important Service changes.
- Maintain, debug, measure, secure, and protect Talebreak and its community.
- Enforce our Terms, respond to reports, and comply with legal obligations.
5. How information is shared
Other people and the public. Other people in a World can see your Character, movement, actions, chat, and shared creative work. Character pages and other material you make public can be viewed without signing in. Content shared with a particular audience is made available according to that choice. Collaborative content may also remain in another participant's own record.
Service providers. We disclose information to providers that support identity and access management; cloud application, real-time, database, and file-storage infrastructure; communications and support; security and abuse prevention; and limited technical processing of uploaded character images. Depending on their role, they may process account or contact details, device and network information, User Content, Service activity, or support communications on our behalf under applicable agreements.
Safety and law. We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect someone from harm, investigate fraud or abuse, secure the Service, or protect rights and property.
Business changes. Information may transfer as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
6. No sale or behavioral advertising
Talebreak does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use an advertising network to target ads based on activity across unrelated services.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure Talebreak, honor the audiences and records people created together, comply with law, and resolve disputes. Retention varies by the kind of record.
- Ordinary Theater replays expire after 14 days; participant-pinned windows remain until unpinned or removed.
- Waitlist information remains while we manage early access or until it is no longer needed.
- Account and creative information remains while your account is active, unless you remove it sooner.
- When you delete your account, Talebreak removes your personal records and scrubs your account identity. A minimal retired Character record may remain when another person's collection or shared history depends on it; retired Characters are removed from public discovery and can no longer be played.
- Security, moderation, legal, deletion, and backup records may remain for a limited period when reasonably necessary for those purposes.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Talebreak provides audience choices for supported Character material and conversations. You can edit or remove supported content, manage blocked players, clear browser storage, or permanently delete your account from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal information; object to or restrict some processing; withdraw consent; or appeal our response. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Send a request to support@storyboarder.com. You may also have the right to complain to a privacy regulator where you live.
9. Children and teenagers
Talebreak is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it. If local law requires a person older than 13 to obtain permission from a parent or guardian, that permission is required before using Talebreak.
10. Security and international use
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, but no Internet service can guarantee complete security. Talebreak is operated from the United States. If you use it elsewhere, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as Talebreak and applicable law change. We will change the date above and give additional notice when required. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to support@storyboarder.com.
